Yazid’s forces cut off their access to water and provisions, subjecting Imam Hussain’s (a) family, including women and children, to unbearable hardship. After three days of deprivation in scorching conditions, Imam Hussain (a) made his valiant stand in what would be remembered as the Battle of Karbala. With unwavering resolve, he laid down his life defending the oppressed and upholding his principles.
